 PBC School of Finance,Tsinghua University

Faculty Positions

 

Tsinghua University, PBC School of Financeis now accepting applications for faculty positions at all ranks (associate professor in particular) in finance and economics, starting in September 2017.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

The predecessor of the PBC School of Finance was the Graduate School of the People’s Bank of China, established in 1981 by the People’s Bank of China. The Graduate School was famous for its esteemed reputation, accomplished graduates, and positive interaction with the finance industry.

With the approval of the Ministry of Education, the People’s Bank of China collaborated with the leading Chinese university, Tsinghua University, to establish the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University on the 29th of March, 2012.

Inheriting the glory of the Graduate School and building on the strong education foundation of Tsinghua University, the PBC School of Finance is committed to becoming a world-class financial institute, cultivating professional talent for the financial sector, and providing policy advices for the government. The school is calling for significant growth in the number of high-quality faculty members.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Full Professor:
Applicants for a full Professor level appointment should have a PhD from an accredited institution, a track record of scholarly research and publication in top 10 academic journals with demonstration on the capability to take a leading role in the cutting-edge research to a globally competitive level, and should combine exceptional disciplinary training with a strong interest in the professional mission of the school and show great promise of attaining distinction in the field of finance and economics.

Associate Professor:
Applicants for an Associate Professor level appointment should have a PhD from an accredited institution, a documented excellence in research as evidenced by publications in top scholarly journals, and must be engaged in important ongoing research, and have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching.

Assistant Professor:
Applicants for Assistant Professor level appointment should have completed a PhD or plan to graduate by June 2017 from an accredited institution, have a strong evidence of high research potential to produce high-quality research in top academic journals and demonstrate promise of becoming an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research and teaching.

SALARIES:

In general, the school offers competitive salaries with benefit packages.

Reception at AFA:

The school is holding a reception event at 6:00 pm on Thursday, the  5th of January, 2017 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Michigan 3 during the AFA annual meeting in Chicago, the event is open to the public, and everyone is invited to come.

The application submission will close at Beijing Time (UTC +8) 8:00am Friday the 2nd of December 2016.

The school will conduct interviews during the AFA annual meeting for applicants who are eligible for initial academic selection. The school will inform those applicants via both email and phone when such a situation arises.
